1. What could be the relationship between population and land use in the world
The abuse and degradation of land and its resources come along with the increase of population. The bigger the population gets, the greater the need for the cultivation of the resources to sustain the living. A conception is being believed that the more bigger the population is of a nation, the higher and better its workforce is, so the more resources is created for the population consumption. With the increase of workforce and the discovery of higher technology though, the abuse of the land and the environment becomes an issue. It is then pretty much observable that there is a huge connection between the population and land use.

In the 1950s, India had a population of about 350 million.  India is known for being the second most populated country in the world next to China but the population condition of India now and then is far way different. Aside from the lack of facility to improve the quality of life there was a also a very low life expectancy rate and a very high death rate. It is true that there were babies born and it actually was high but the rate of death was also as high. Famine and fatal diseases due to lack of proper nutrition were also seen factors to have caused this dilemma in India during the fifties.

4. What was Nehrus perspective on Indias population and population control policy
For some analysts, they would say that it would be of advantage for a country to have a bigger population to cultivate its resources so the whole populace would have something for consumption but Nehru is completely in contrast with what some analysts claim. In Nehrus point of view, it would be better for India if there would be lesser people inhabiting and cultivating its richness. For him it is not how many inhabitants a country has but how productive they are.  A country with a big population of unproductive inhabitants would only turn out to be a big burden.

8. What are the achievements of Indias population policy
After few years of implementing the population policy, there had been a progress noted. As a matter of fact, Indias population policy had become the worlds first model on family planning and control. By the decade of the 1980s, about 43 percent of couples are already into family planning methods.  Most of the population now look at family planning as good and positive. The women were also empowered in the process which is a very important factor in making decisions in reproduction. The fertility rate is now decreasing.
